Shetland Sheep: Rich in History, Rich in Textiles

Shetland Sheep: Rich in History, Rich in Textiles! Our farm mission is to enjoy and promote the wonderful diversity of the Shetland breed by fully utilizing to the best of our ability all they have to offer historically. We believe the best preservation and management of this breed includes it's full spectrum of history. We encourage old and new shepherds alike to join in the fun by engaging in fiber arts, especially spinning and knitting, as this breed is so intimately linked with those aspects of the arts.

Look Who's Wearing A Bowtie!

Why, it's little Tuxie, of course!
Isn't he cute?  He really does look like a white goat wearing a tuxedo, with a white bow!

Check out the power in his shoulders!  See his bowtie here? lol
Nice topline, too.

What a great Valentine's Day Gift!

Every Girl's Crazy 'bout a Sharp Dressed....

Goat!   Bummmmbumbumbumbummmm.....bummmmbumbumbumbummmm....

That song goes through my head so easily, as it was played way too much, way too long here in America!  I can still picture that guy with his beard and funky guitar.  Funny.

Meet Tuxie!  That's short for Tuxedo...a little white goat all dressed up in a snazzy tuxedo!  He was born Saturday January 13th, and is a really beautiful little buck!

Tuxedo Lily Five

Little Tuxie has brought much fun, laughter and silliness to the farm.  He was born to Lily, one of the girls in the barn, hence his official name above.  We'll continue to share a bit about little Tux as time passes!  Wait til' you see his 'bowtie'! (You can see a tiny part of it under his chin here)

Sweet Treats

Yum!

Isn't February about the only time you can eat a bit of sweets without guilt?  Perhaps sugar has become so dumped into our food culture that sweets aren't the treats they used to be.  But here on the farm, after doing chores out in the cold, sweet treats are still special upon returning to the warm farmhouse!  It doesn't escape our minds, either, how pleasant they look to eyes now used to every shade of brown and gray outdoors.

Warm feet, sweet treats...nice!
